Tribute to my friend and brother Chief Emmy Afam Ojuederie aka SAKANA SAKANA
Emmy friendship with me sprang up very spontaneously and how is still lost to me. He was not a schoolmate yet we were so agreeable. We never worked together in any of these many establishments where he or myself worked yet we collaborated well in so many activities.
He was as much a member of my family as I was of his, both the nuclear and extended families. His demise therefore was a big blow to me
Emmy was a highly talented man in many respect. His musical endowment was great. He loved reading and could attempt to master any field of study in which a challenge is thrown. A man of great courage and wisdom
He was a meticulous administrator who bordered on the chip of administrators with colonial tradition of speed with accuracy
Emmy loved people and never joked with his family in all the ramifications. The extended Ojuederie of Ovu lost its chief organizer and planner. His organizational skills and capacity will be greatly missed
Chief Emmy Ojuederie aka SAKANA SAKANA was an active member of the various alumni association of the many educational institutions he attended. From his tertiary institution University of Ibadan to as far down to his primary school alma mater he continued to identify with
A man with a good heart, his sense of humor endeared him to many . A very good friend and brother to me and I miss him dearly.
I condole with you my dear Mariam and your siblings. I also extend my condolences to Mrs Emmy Ojuederie and his entire family.
May the souls of Rosemary Ego and Emmy Afam Ojuederie and the souls of the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace .
AMEN

Tribute
My brother Emy, you weren’’t the loudest in the room. No, you didn’t need to be. You had a quiet presence that made people feel at ease – a gentle kind of strength that was calm, consistent, and safe.
You don’t speak to be heard. You spoke to connect. When you asked, “How are you doing? You meant it. You weren’t one for dramatic gestures, but your loyalty ran deep.
I will always remember how, without fail, you called to wish me a happy birthday every year.
I share my birthday with your daughter and granddaughter, and that small gesture meant the world to me. You were thoughtful, always remembering the little details.
As I think about all the people mourning you, I find comfort in knowing so many people love my brother. I find peace in knowing that you touched many lives at some point in your life.
I find happiness in knowing that you will live on in all of our memories.
You may not have lived a perfect life, but you sha lived a good one. One that we will forever cherish, and we will all continue to remember.
Rest in perfect peace, brother Emy, till we meet on resurrection morning, Amen

Tribute to My Late Uncle Emy
Uncle Emy was more than my father’s brother he was his true friend. I admired the strong bond they shared. I remember those days in Warri when my late father, Augustine Etaghene, would take me to visit him at the Delta Boat Yard and his regular visits to our home on Odien Street and in Asaba.
He gave me valuable advice and played a major role during my marriage, for which I remain forever grateful. Even after my father’s death, he continued to show me the same love and care he had for my dad.
May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.
Mr John Etaghene
